The Beauty of Joshua Tree

I have fallen for the beauty of Joshua Tree National Park. I discovered the place in December of 2004, and on Wednesday, May 27th, I made my twelth visit. It's a special land for me, with it's wide open spaces, strangely shaped rocks, unusual plants and, best of all, very few people or signs of civilization. When I visit Joshua Tree, I can stretch my vision to the far horizons and feel myself expand as a being.

A friend named Kevin and I decided to take Wednesday off so we could drive to Joshua Tree in his 4-wheel vehicle. We drove something called the Geology trail. It's very beautiful, 18 miles long and desolate. Nevertheless, the flowers were in bloom and the landscape was green and beautiful. More pictures are here.

On the way home from work Friday, I stopped at the Los Angeles Botanical Gardens. More pictures are here.

Saturday I decided to visit the Renaissance Faire again. More pictures are here.

Sunday I decided to visit the Renaissance Faire yet again. More pictures are here.

Next week: On Saturday, I am going to take a long trip to death valley national park, leaving at 2am. On Sunday, I am going for a long drive up Route 330, past Big Bear Lake (early in the morning), down the back of the San Bernardino Mountains, around San Gorgonio, and south to Idlewilde. That's a full day, a very full day.
